APL Berths 60 – 63: Dr. Oyenuga managed Phase 1 design of the APL Structural Contract for seismic retrofit of Berths 60, 61, 62 & 63 at the Port of Oakland. Dots also managed the Soil - Structure Interaction an d the Modeling Tasks, using the program ADINA .

Underwater Wall Study: ASC participated in an underwater retaining wall study using innovative applications like the Spin- fin Pile developed by Peratrovich, Nottingham & Drage, Inc. .

East Apron Reconstruction: ASC provided Quality Control services and Professional consulting services at the Oakland International Airport for the East Apron Reconstruction project. Our scope included the complete suite of field and laboratory testing, and expert services provided in conflict resolution on the project. .

STRUCTURAL MODIFICATIONS & SEISMIC RISK REDUCTION PLANNING

At the Port of Oakland, Phase 2 of WESP involved both Preliminary Design for Minimum Structural Modifications and Seism ic Risk Reduction Planning (SRRP)/ Vulnerability Modeling.

TDots Oyenuga , of ASC, finalized the SRRP for the subject berths, which included evaluation of structural performance of the existing berths, and berth upgrade, when subjected to an array of seismic ground motions with different intensities and distances from the epicenter, considering inertial and embankment deformation (kinematic) effects. Estimates of structural damage from each of the ground motions, as well as construction repair, and upgrade cost were also developed.
